very much so.. I feel every perosn should be fitted properly for golf clubs. Think about it like this.. a person 5’6″ surely cant use the same clubs as some one 6″4″. what happens is, for the taller player he has to bend over more causing him to come out of the correct swing pattern at the top of the swing. therefor causing more than likely a fade to the right.
i am 6’4″ and the clubs i use are 5 degree upright in the club face and the shafts are 1″ 1/2 longer then the regular shaft produced

The longer the club, the less control it offers. The shorter, the more control. The longer the club the more distance, the shorter clubs the shorter. And so on and so forth.
get fitted, take lessons. sometimes a shorter driver helps many. you have more control. if you’re extremely tall, standard shafts may be too short. again; go see a pro. keep on floggin!
yes it does because the longer the club, the more force you ca generate, however, you sacrifice control. The Rules of Golf has all the guidelines you need..
Lets just keep this simple. Longer shafts provide more of a whipping effect therefore allowing the weight transfer to get to the club head at a higher velocity hence increasing ball speed. Now, shorter shaft may provide better control but not necessary a loss in distance. here’s why. let say a player is using a standard 45″ shaft on their driver and they drive the ball 250 yds. Lets say the same person with the same type of shaft and club head goes to a 44″ shaft. More than likely this person percentage of hitting a longer driver is greater because it would provide better control over the club at impact. Solid impact equal less spin and straghter drives which equal extra distance. Longer the shaft may get you distance but toward a direction everywhere else but to the intended target.
I believe it makes a big difference. It would also probably make a difference on how far you can hit the ball. Sorry can’t help with the book. Good Luck.
Have a good one…
If you think about the situation correctly it shouldn’t affect your game badly. If anything it should make your play better. All you have to do is readjust your stance. Just step back a bit and you should be able to hit further or higher.
